PhD Research

Leadership,
Decision Quality
& Resilience

The doctoral research examines how a leader's emotional disposition influences decision style, how decision style affects decision quality, and how accumulated decision quality shapes organisational resilience.

Empirical Layer

The Mechanism Under
The Quiet Waste

The book names the organisational phenomenon. The research traces one mechanism below it: the chain through which leaders convert emotional disposition into consequential organisational outcomes through decision behaviour.

Quantitative Strand

PLS-SEM with a sample of 220 senior leaders across six Indian cities and four sectors.

Qualitative Strand

Twenty in-depth interviews, with themes mapped to the tested quantitative paths.

Practice Implication

Leadership development should focus less on trait labels and more on decision process quality, which can be observed, trained, and improved.

Research Positioning

Why This Matters
For Organisations

Resilience is often treated as a cultural quality or a strategic aspiration. This research approaches it as the consequence of repeated decision quality under pressure.

That makes resilience more actionable. It can be strengthened by improving how leaders frame uncertainty, process conflicting signals, test assumptions, and decide when the cost of delay and the cost of error are both real.
